Blessed Conrad of Frisach
Blessed Conrad of Frisach (born c. 1180 AD in Frisach, Carinthia, Austria; died February 16, 1239 AD in Magdeburg, Saxony, Germany) was an Austrian Dominican friar and preacher who served as one of the leading Dominican preachers in the German-speaking lands in the first generation after Saint Dominic. A member of the first generation of Dominican friars in Austria and Germany, he was known for his eloquent preaching, his austerity, and his zeal for souls. He died in Magdeburg in 1239. His feast day is February 16.

Biography
Conrad of Frisach was born around 1180 in Friesach, Carinthia, one of the oldest towns in Austria. He joined the newly founded Order of Preachers (Dominicans) in the first generation after their founding and devoted himself to preaching in the German-speaking lands.
He served as one of the leading Dominican preachers in Austria and Germany, helping to establish the Order's presence in the German Province (Teutonia). He died February 16, 1239, in Magdeburg. His feast day is February 16.
