Saint Quirinus of Siscia
Saint Quirinus of Siscia (born c. 3rd century AD; died June 4, 309 AD in Savaria (modern Szombathely, Hungary)) was the Bishop of Siscia (modern Sisak, Croatia) who was martyred during the Diocletianic Persecution. He is the patron saint of Szombathely, Hungary, and one of the early martyrs of the Pannonian church. His feast day is June 4.

Biography
Quirinus was Bishop of Siscia (modern Sisak, Croatia) during the Diocletianic Persecution. When the governors of Pannonia enforced the imperial edicts requiring the surrender of sacred texts and sacrifice to Roman gods, Quirinus refused. He was arrested and brought before the governor Amantius.
He was sentenced to death by drowning. A millstone was tied to his neck and he was thrown into the River Sibaris near Savaria (modern Szombathely, Hungary) on June 4, 309 AD. According to his Acts, he floated on the surface, praying aloud for his congregation and his persecutors, before finally sinking.
His martyrdom is one of the best-documented of the Pannonian church. He is the patron of Szombathely — the ancient Roman city of Savaria, also the birthplace of Saint Martin of Tours.
