Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology is a Roman Catholic seminary and graduate school of theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana, operated by the Benedictine monks of Saint Meinrad Archabbey. It forms men for the priesthood from dioceses around the United States while also offering graduate theological education to lay men and women, permanent diaconate formation, and ongoing formation programs for priests.
Campus and Formation
The school is located at 200 Hill Drive in St. Meinrad, Indiana. Priesthood formation includes a Propaedeutic Year followed by Human, Spiritual, Academic, and Pastoral Formation. Saint Meinrad also operates the Institute for Priests and Presbyterates, which provides continuing formation, sabbaticals, and mentor training for priests; the Center for Youth and Young Adult Evangelization; and the Institute for Sacred Music, which offers a Saint Meinrad Chant program and a Liturgical Music Certificate.
Academics
The Graduate Theology program offers a Master of Arts in Theology, including a specialization for those teaching high school theology, as well as a Certificate in General Theological Studies and post-graduate certificates. The school also provides permanent deacon formation programs, offered in partnership with dioceses and including a Spanish-language formation track. The faculty is organized into departments of History, Languages, Pastoral Studies, Scripture, and Systematic Theology, and includes a number of Benedictine monks of the Order of Saint Benedict (OSB).
