Saint Laura
Saint Laura of Córdoba (born c. 820 AD in Córdoba, al-Andalus (modern Spain); died October 19, 864 AD in Córdoba, al-Andalus) was a Spanish abbess and martyr who was killed during the Córdoba Martyrs movement under the Moorish Umayyad emirate of Córdoba. According to her account, she was thrown into a vat of molten lead for refusing to apostasize. She is venerated as a martyr and abbess. Her feast day is October 19.

Biography
Laura was born around 820 AD in Córdoba, then the capital of the Umayyad Emirate of al-Andalus in Muslim-ruled Spain. She was a Christian — a Mozarab, meaning a Christian living under Muslim rule who maintained the ancient Iberian Christian faith and liturgy.
She married and after her husband's death took the veil, becoming the abbess of a convent in Córdoba.
During the 850s and 860s, Córdoba was shaken by a wave of voluntary Christian martyrdoms, inspired in part by Saint Eulogius of Córdoba, in which Christians publicly condemned Islam and were executed under Islamic law. This movement produced the Martyrs of Córdoba.
Laura was arrested by the Moorish authorities. According to her account, she was thrown into a vat of molten lead on October 19, 864 AD, and died.
She is venerated in the Roman and Spanish churches as a martyr and abbess, with feast day October 19.
