Saint Hermolaus
Saint Hermolaus (died c. 305 AD in Nicomedia, Bithynia, modern Turkey) was a Christian priest at Nicomedia who converted the physician-martyr Saint Pantaleon (Panteleimon) to Christianity. When Pantaleon was arrested during the Diocletianic Persecution, Hermolaus and two companions (Hermippus and Hermocrates) were also arrested and martyred. He is venerated in both Eastern and Western Churches. His feast day is July 27.

Biography
Hermolaus was a Christian priest living in Nicomedia, the eastern capital of the Roman Empire in the early 4th century. He is said to have known the parents of the young physician Pantaleon and watched over Pantaleon's spiritual formation after his father Eustorgius died. Through Hermolaus's instruction, Pantaleon — who had been raised Christian by his mother but had drifted away from the faith while studying medicine — returned fully to Christianity. He was baptized by Hermolaus.
When Pantaleon was denounced to the authorities during the Diocletianic Persecution and arrested (c. 305 AD), the authorities also learned of Hermolaus's role in his conversion. Hermolaus and two other companions — Hermippus and Hermocrates — were arrested and brought to trial. They confessed the Christian faith and were executed.
Saint Pantaleon himself was martyred on July 27, and Hermolaus shares this feast date in the Roman Martyrology and many Eastern calendars.
