Saints named Elias
- Saint Elias of Jerusalem (died c. 518 AD) — Patriarch of Jerusalem; upheld the Council of Chalcedon; exiled by Emperor Anastasius I; feast July 20.
- Saint Elias of Caesarea (died 309 AD) — Egyptian monk martyred at Caesarea Maritima under Diocletian with four companions; feast February 16.
- Saint Elias Spelaiotes ("the Cave-dweller"; born c. 864 AD; died 960 AD) — Greek hermit in Calabria; lived in caves; one of the great Italo-Byzantine saints; feast September 11.

Note on the prophet Elias (Elijah)
The Old Testament prophet Elijah (Hebrew Eliyahu, Greek Elias) is venerated by the Catholic Church as a prophet and pre-Christian precursor of Christian monastic life; the Carmelite Order traces its origins to hermits on Mount Carmel honoring him. His feast in the Roman Catholic calendar falls on July 20 in some local observances.
