Saint Cassius of Narni
Saint Cassius of Narni (died June 29, 558 AD in Narni, Umbria, Italy) was Bishop of Narni in Umbria, praised by Pope Gregory the Great in his Dialogues for his holiness, his charity toward the poor, and his miraculous deeds. Gregory records that Cassius celebrated Mass daily, dressed as a mourner in black vestments, and interceded effectively for those in need. His feast day is June 29.

Biography
Saint Cassius served as Bishop of Narni, a fortified hill town in Umbria, for many years in the sixth century. Pope Gregory the Great wrote about him in his Dialogues (Book I, Chapter 9), describing him as a man of extraordinary holiness and charity. Gregory notes that Cassius celebrated daily Mass in a spirit of penitence, wearing black vestments. He was known for his generosity to the poor and for miraculous deeds attributed to his intercession, including providing food during times of famine.
He died on June 29, 558 AD, coincidentally the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. He is commemorated in the Roman Martyrology on June 29.
