Saint Caradoc
Saint Caradoc (also Caradog; died April 14, 1124 AD at St David's, Pembrokeshire, Wales) was a Welsh hermit who served as a harper at the court of Rhys ap Tewdwr, King of Deheubarth, before choosing the life of a monk and hermit in Pembrokeshire. He became a hermit on the island of Barry in the Bristol Channel and later near Saint David's. He died at the Cathedral of Saint David's in 1124. His feast day is April 14.

Biography
Caradoc served as a harper at the court of Rhys ap Tewdwr, King of Deheubarth in southwest Wales, before religious conversion led him to leave court life. He entered religion, studied at Llandaff, and then became a hermit — first on the island of Barry off the Vale of Glamorgan coast, then at Gower, and finally at St Ismael's near Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire. He spent the last years of his life at or near the Cathedral of Saint David's, the great pilgrimage center of Wales. He died there on April 14, 1124.
Pope Calixtus II was said to have been on the point of canonizing him formally but died before doing so; his cult was locally confirmed. He is commemorated on April 14.
