Saint Calepodius

Saint Calepodius (died c. 222 AD in Rome) was a Roman priest martyred during the reign of the Emperor Alexander Severus. His body was thrown into the Tiber River by his persecutors but was later recovered. He is venerated as a martyr. His feast day is May 10.

Biography

Saint Calepodius was a priest of Rome martyred around 222 AD during the reign of Alexander Severus. According to the Roman Martyrology, he was seized and beheaded, and his body was thrown into the Tiber River. Pope Calixtus I, martyred around the same time, is said to have been thrown into a well. The bodies of both were later recovered by Christians and given honorable burial. Calepodius is commemorated on May 10.
