Saint Branwallader
Saint Branwallader (also Brelade, Brendwalader; died c. 6th century AD) was a Celtic bishop venerated in the Channel Islands and Brittany, particularly on the island of Jersey, where the parish of Saint Brélade (Saint-Brelade) bears his name. He is said to have been a bishop or abbot who came from Wales or Cornwall and ministered in the Channel Islands. His feast day is January 19.

Biography
Saint Branwallader was a Celtic bishop or abbot of the sixth century who came from Wales or Cornwall and brought Christianity to the Channel Islands, particularly to Jersey. The parish of Saint-Brélade in Jersey is named after him (the name "Brélade" being a corruption of "Branwallader" through French phonology). St Brelade's Church in Jersey is one of the most beautifully situated churches in the British Isles, set on a sandy bay with an adjacent medieval Fishermen's Chapel. The saint is also venerated in Brittany, where he may have spent time as part of the wave of Celtic Christian missionaries who moved between Britain, Ireland, and Armorica in the fifth and sixth centuries. His feast day is January 19.
