Saint Basiliscus
Saint Basiliscus (died c. 308 AD in Comana, Pontus [present-day Turkey]) was a Christian martyr who was a nephew of Saint Theodore Tiron and was executed in Comana during the Diocletianic Persecution. He is said to have been tortured and then drowned or executed by a local pagan official who feared the influence of the young man's holiness on the townspeople. His feast day is May 22 in the Roman Rite; March 3 in the Eastern tradition.

Biography
Saint Basiliscus was a nephew of Saint Theodore Tiron (Theodore the Recruit), one of the most popular military saints in the Eastern Christian tradition. He was arrested during the Diocletianic Persecution in Comana and martyred. The hagiographic tradition describes him as a young man of exceptional holiness whose influence the local authorities feared. He was executed in Comana around 308 AD.
