Saint Barsabas (also known as Barsabas the Abbot; died December 11, 342 AD) was a Persian abbot and martyr, executed during the persecution of Christians under Emperor Shapur II of Persia. He governed a monastery in the Persian Empire and was martyred along with a group of his monks for refusing to renounce the Christian faith or cooperate with the demands of the persecution. His feast day is December 11.

Barsabas is one of the many clerics, monks, and religious superiors who perished during the systematic persecution of the Church in Persia under Shapur II (which lasted approximately 340–380 AD). His death alongside his monastic community makes him representative of the group martyrdoms that characterized this persecution.
