Saint Baldomerus
Saint Baldomerus (also known as Galmier; born c. 610 AD in Lyon, France; died c. 650 AD in Lyon) was a French locksmith who became a monk and is venerated as the patron saint of locksmiths. He worked as a skilled craftsman in Lyon, living a life of simplicity and charity, and eventually entered the monastery of Saint-Just-en-Lyon where he lived as a monk under the direction of the abbot. His craft skills, his simplicity of heart, and his reputation for holiness made him beloved in Lyon. His feast day is February 27.

Biography
Baldomerus was born around 610 AD in Lyon, a major city on the Rhône in what is now the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. He learned the trade of locksmithing and became known in Lyon as a skilled craftsman, but also as a man of deep faith and great charity toward the poor. He gave generously of his earnings and was known for the purity and simplicity of his life.
He eventually entered the monastery of Saint-Just-en-Lyon, where he placed his craft skills at the service of the community while continuing to grow in the life of prayer and monastic charity. He died around 650 AD, venerated by his community and the faithful of Lyon as a holy man.
His French name "Galmier" is derived from the Germanic "Baldomer" and is the form of his name most commonly found in French hagiographic sources. He is particularly venerated in the city of Lyon and is patron of locksmiths throughout France.
