Saint Angela of the Cross
Saint Angela of the Cross (born January 30, 1846 AD in Seville, Spain; died March 2, 1932 AD in Seville, Spain) was a Spanish mystic and foundress of the Sisters of the Company of the Cross, a religious congregation dedicated to radical poverty and service to the poorest of the poor in imitation of Christ crucified. She was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2003. Her feast day is March 5.

Biography
María de los Ángeles Guerrero González was born January 30, 1846, in Seville, to a working-class family (her father was a tailor). She worked as a shoemaker's apprentice as a young woman. She attempted twice to enter religious life but was prevented by circumstances and health.
She was deeply formed by a spirituality of identification with Christ Crucified, finding God in the poorest and most abandoned. In 1875 she founded the Sisters of the Company of the Cross — a congregation dedicated to radical poverty and service to the absolute destitute, without accumulated property or institutional wealth. The congregation was approved by the Church in 1887.
She spent her entire life in Seville, serving the city's poorest without interruption for more than 60 years. She died March 2, 1932, at age 86, in Seville.
Pope John Paul II beatified her in Seville in 1982 (the first beatification in Seville) and canonized her in Rome on May 4, 2003. Her feast day is March 5.
