Saint Andrew Corsini
Saint Andrew Corsini (born November 30, 1302 AD in Florence, Italy; died January 6, 1373 AD in Fiesole, Italy) was a Carmelite friar who became Bishop of Fiesole and one of the great mediators and peacemakers of 14th-century Italy. He was canonized by Pope Urban VIII in 1629. His feast day is February 4.

Biography
Andrew Corsini was born November 30, 1302, to the noble Corsini family of Florence. In his youth he was reportedly dissolute. His mother had consecrated him to the Virgin Mary before his birth, having had a vision of a wolf transformed into a lamb at the door of the Carmelite church — a vision that became the symbolic narrative of his eventual conversion.
He entered the Carmelite Order at Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence and was professed. He was ordained a priest, studied in Paris and Avignon, and became prior of the Carmelite house in Florence.
He was elected Bishop of Fiesole in 1349, the year after the Black Death swept Tuscany. As bishop he was known for personal austerity, care for the poor, and great gifts of mediation. Pope Innocent VI sent him as papal legate to mediate the dangerous conflict between Bologna and the Visconti — a mission he accomplished successfully.
He died January 6, 1373, at Fiesole and was buried at Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence. He was beatified 1440 and canonized 1629.
