Saint Agatha Yi Kannan
Saint Agatha Yi Kannan (Korean: 이간난 아가타; born 1820; died September 20, 1846) was a Korean Catholic widow and martyr executed during the Byongoh Persecution of 1846. She is one of the 103 Korean Martyrs, canonized by Pope John Paul II on May 6, 1984, during his first visit to Korea. Her feast day is September 20.
Agatha Yi Kannan was a widow who had been widowed at a young age. After her husband's death she devoted herself entirely to her Catholic faith and to the service of the Christian community. During the Byongoh Persecution (丙午迫害) of 1846, she was arrested for her Catholic faith and executed. She was beheaded at Seoul (Hanyang) on September 20, 1846.

Biography
Birth
Agatha Yi Kannan was born in 1820 in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty. She was baptized as a Catholic and received the name Agatha.

She married young and was widowed. After her husband's death she devoted herself to the practice of her Catholic faith.
