Saint Adalgis

The Cathedral of Novara (dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary) is the principal church of the Diocese of Novara and the episcopal church in which Saint Adalgis served. The present Neoclassical cathedral, designed by Alessandro Antonelli (who also designed the famous Mole Antonelliana in Turin), was built in the nineteenth century, but the site preserves the memory of the ancient episcopal see of which Adalgis was a bishop.
