Litany for Those Experiencing Recurrent Miscarriage
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
hear us.
From all bitterness and anger at the repeated loss of our little ones,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From the crushing weight of guilt and the lie that we are to blame,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From despair that makes us doubt Your love and goodness,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From envying mothers who carry their babies to term,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From the fear that paralyzes us from hoping or trying again,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From the temptation to close our hearts to new life out of self-protection,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
That we may entrust each miscarried child to Your merciful care, knowing they now pray for us in Heaven,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may find healing and peace in the wounds of Your Passion,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may accept this cross of recurrent loss as a hidden path to deeper union with You,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That our marriage may grow stronger and more tender through shared sorrow and hope,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may cherish the brief gift of each life conceived, no matter how short its time on earth,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may offer every tear, every empty cradle, and every unanswered “why” as a living sacrifice for souls,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That in our brokenness we may become a gentle light and comfort to others who carry the same cross,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
O Mary, Mother of Sorrows, who stood at the foot of the Cross, pray for all who grieve their little ones.
St. Joseph, protector of the unborn and guardian of the Holy Family, pray for us.
St. Anne and St. Joachim, pray for us.
All Holy Innocents in heaven, pray for us.
Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, You who wept at the death of Lazarus and who holds every lost child in Your arms, comfort us in our repeated sorrow. In the mystery of recurrent miscarriage, make our hearts fruitful in faith, steadfast in hope, and abundant in love. Grant that the souls of our little ones, safe with You, may intercede for us until we are all reunited in the joy of Your Kingdom.
Through the intercession of the Holy Family and all the saints, help us to desire only what You desire, trusting completely in Your Providence. Amen.
