Litany for Those Experiencing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
hear us.
From frustration and anger with our bodies that seem to betray us,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From envy of women whose cycles and fertility appear effortless,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From discouragement over irregular cycles, weight struggles, and hormonal chaos,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From the temptation to despair of ever conceiving or carrying a child,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From bitterness toward ourselves or toward medical treatments that feel endless,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
From the fear that our womanhood is somehow defective or less worthy,
Deliver us, O Jesus.
That we may accept our bodies with gentleness and patience, seeing them as temples of the Holy Spirit,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may trust Your timing and Your perfect plan for our fertility and health,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That every symptom, every cycle, and every disappointment may draw us closer to You,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may support and cherish our spouse as we walk this path together,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may remain open to life, whether through natural conception, medical help, or other holy paths You provide,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That we may offer the hidden sufferings of PCOS as a sacrifice of praise and trust,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
That in our struggle we may become a source of understanding, hope, and encouragement to other women facing PCOS,
Jesus, grant us the grace to desire it.
O Mary, Health of the Sick and Mother of Hope, pray for all women burdened by PCOS.
St. Joseph, protector of families, pray for us.
St. Anne and St. Joachim, pray for us.
St. Rita of Cascia, patron of impossible causes, pray for us.
St. Gianna Molla, patron of mothers and physicians, pray for us.
Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, You who knit us together in our mothers’ wombs, look with compassion on those who suffer from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Heal what is wounded, restore balance where there is disorder, and grant us peace in the midst of uncertainty. Make our bodies and souls fruitful in Your sight, whether through the gift of biological children or through the spiritual fruitfulness You have prepared for us.
Through the intercession of the Holy Family, grant us the grace to desire only what You desire, trusting that Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. Amen.
