A short guide for new readers: saints of the day, biographies and maps, parishes and geography, Footprints tours, Nearby on mobile, and drilldown search.

Saintapedia is a wiki about Catholic saints, churches, and related places — with an emphasis on structured data (so maps, lists, and filters work) rather than only free-form articles. Here is a practical path if you are new.

1. Start with today

The homepage highlights Saints of the Day and portals into the main collections. If you only have a minute, that is enough.

2. Read a saint in full

Open any saint article for biography, feast day, patronage, shrines, and related templates. Many pages include maps of notable places. Use the search box if you already know a name (for example Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton or Saint John Neumann).

Browse more via Portal:Saints or the Cargo drilldown for saints. We have thousands of structured saint rows to explore.

3. Follow the geography

Saintapedia also tracks parishes, dioceses, and countries so you can move from a person to a place (or the reverse).

Parish coverage has grown substantially; treat the portals and Nearby as living directories.

4. Walk a life with Footprints

Footprints are tour-depth life places — not just “famous for,” but stops you can put on a pilgrimage map, with honest visit access. Pick a person tour, open the map, and plan from the stop list. See also Introducing Footprints.

5. Dig with drilldown

If you like filtering (by country, type, and other fields), use Special:Drilldown on the Cargo tables. That is the power-user door into the same data that builds the maps.

6. Media and the blog

A note on accuracy

We aim for careful, edifying content. Some pages use AI-assisted drafting; key facts should be verified against reliable sources. See Saintapedia:AI policy for how we talk about that.
