Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament is a territorial parish of the Diocese of Brooklyn, serving the Bayside neighborhood of northeastern Queens, New York. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament parish was formally established in 1930 by the Diocese of Brooklyn, with Reverend James Dolan appointed as the parish's first pastor.[1] Before a permanent church building existed, Mass was celebrated in the clubroom of the Matowac Democrat Club and later in the Victory Movie Theatre on 32nd Avenue, as the fledgling congregation raised funds and organized construction of a permanent worship space.[2]

The new church building was solemnly blessed and dedicated on October 19, 1931.[3]

The parish's commitment to Catholic education expanded significantly when Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament School opened in February 1951 with 428 students enrolled across the first five grades. Sister Marguerite served as the school's first principal, and it was staffed by the Sisters of Mercy from Dallas, Pennsylvania.[4] The school has since evolved into Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Academy, which continues to serve families in the Bayside area.[5]

The parish continues its ministry within Queens Deanery 5 of the Diocese of Brooklyn.[6]
