Moreau Seminary is a postulancy formation house of the Congregation of Holy Cross (C.S.C.), located on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. It houses men who have already earned a four-year degree and are spending a year in community discernment before seeking admittance to the Congregation's novitiate.
Campus and Formation
Moreau Seminary is located on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Once a man has obtained a four-year degree, he is eligible to spend a year living with the Holy Cross community at Moreau Seminary as a postulant. During this postulant year, he pursues coursework in philosophy, serves in a ministry placement, and participates in a series of formation conferences while continuing to discern God's call. At the end of the year, postulants may petition for admittance to the novitiate, which is located in Cascade, Colorado. Moreau Seminary follows the undergraduate seminary program, known as "Old College," also located on the Notre Dame campus, in the Congregation's overall path of formation toward priesthood or religious brotherhood.

Current Status
Moreau Seminary continues to operate as the postulancy stage of formation for the Congregation of Holy Cross, between the undergraduate Old College program and the novitiate in Cascade, Colorado.
