Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology (ICSST) is a Roman Catholic seminary and school of theology located in South Orange, New Jersey, operating as part of Seton Hall University. It functions both as a House of Formation for men preparing for the priesthood and as a School of Theology offering theological and pastoral education to undergraduate and graduate students, including those preparing for lay ecclesial ministry and the permanent diaconate.
Campus and Formation
As a House of Formation, the Seminary offers men preparing for the priesthood personal, academic, ministerial, and spiritual formation. Formation programs include Priestly Formation and Permanent Diaconate Formation, along with a "Preaching as Hospitality" initiative. The Seminary's mission was approved by its Board of Overseers on March 23, 2017, and its vision statement was approved by the Board of Overseers on December 11, 2023.
Academics
As a School of Theology, ICSST provides a theological and philosophical foundation for men and women pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies, pastoral and spiritual formation for those preparing for ministry, a theological foundation for those pursuing doctoral studies, and continuing theological education. It offers Undergraduate Programs, Graduate Programs, and the "4:12 Pathway for Pastoral Leadership," as well as a Graduate Certificate in Catholic Evangelization.
