Establishment
The Diocese of San Nicolás de los Arroyos was erected on 25 April 1947 by Pope Pius XII to serve the growing Catholic population in the northern part of Buenos Aires Province, taking territory from the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires and the Diocese of La Plata.
