Establishment
The Diocese of Morón was erected on 13 March 1957 by Pope Pius XII, taking territory from the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires to better serve the expanding Catholic population in the western suburbs of the capital.
History
The diocese was created amid rapid urbanization in the mid-20th century. Its territory includes the cities of Morón, Hurlingham, and Ituzaingó. The first bishop, Miguel Raspanti, guided the new see through its initial organizational phase. Subsequent bishops have focused on pastoral care in a densely populated suburban area.
