Diocese of Januária
The Diocese of Januária, a suffragan diocese of the Latin Rite, was a historic diocese located in the region of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Established in 1957, it served a growing Catholic population in northern Minas Gerais before its suppression in 1962. Its territory was subsequently redistributed among neighboring dioceses, and the see became a titular bishopric. The diocese formed part of the Ecclesiastical Province of Belo Horizonte during its brief existence.

Establishment
The Diocese of Januária was established on 19 July 1957 by Pope Pius XII to serve the Catholic faithful in the northern part of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
History
The diocese existed for only five years. Its territory was divided among the Diocese of Paracatu and the Diocese of Montes Claros upon suppression in 1962.
