The Diocese of Cruzeiro do Sul, a suffragan diocese of the Latin Rite, is an active diocese in the state of Acre in Brazil. Establishment
The Diocese of Cruzeiro do Sul was established on 25 June 1963 by Pope Paul VI to serve the growing Catholic population in the western part of Acre.
History
The diocese was created from territory previously belonging to the Territorial Prelature of Juruá. It has focused on missionary work in the Amazon rainforest since its founding.
