Diocese of Óbidos
The Diocese of Óbidos, a suffragan diocese of the Latin Rite, was a historic diocese in northern Brazil. Established in 1957 by Pope Pius XII, it served the Amazon region until its suppression in 1981, after which its territory was reassigned. The see is now a titular diocese within the Ecclesiastical Province of Belém do Pará.

Establishment
The Diocese of Óbidos was established on 10 April 1957 by Pope Pius XII to serve the growing Catholic population in the Amazon region of northern Brazil.
History
Early Years
The diocese was carved from territory previously under the Diocese of Santarém and focused on missionary work among indigenous and riverine communities.
Suppression
The diocese was suppressed on 9 November 1981, with its territory reassigned primarily to the Diocese of Santarém.

The diocese covered areas along the Amazon River in the state of Pará, Brazil.
