Blessed Odo of Cambrai
Blessed Odo of Cambrai (born about 1060 AD in Orléans, France; died June 19, 1113 AD at Anchin Abbey, France) was a French scholar, Benedictine monk, and Bishop of Cambrai, celebrated first as a master of the liberal arts and then as a monastic reformer and theologian. Also known as Odo of Tournai, he is venerated as a Blessed of the Church. His feast day is June 19.
A renowned teacher who turned from worldly learning to the monastic life, Odo of Cambrai founded a reformed abbey, was made a bishop, and wrote theological works, bearing exile with patience for the sake of the Church's freedom. He is honored as a Blessed by long-standing veneration.

Biography
Odo was born about 1060, by tradition at Orléans in France. He won early fame as a scholar and became head of the cathedral school of Tournai, where his teaching of the liberal arts and philosophy drew many students and made his name well known. Amid this success he underwent a conversion, turning from secular learning and worldly ambition to give himself wholly to God.
He embraced the monastic life and, with his companions, restored and reformed the abbey of Saint Martin at Tournai according to the Rule of Saint Benedict, becoming its first abbot and guiding it in strict observance. His reputation for holiness and learning led to his being made Bishop of Cambrai. As bishop he strove for the reform of the Church and the defense of its liberty; in the disputes over investiture that troubled his age, his fidelity to ecclesiastical principle brought him into conflict and for a time into exile from his see.
Odo also wrote theological and philosophical works, treating such subjects as original sin and the mystery of the Incarnation. He spent his last years at the abbey of Anchin, where he died on June 19, 1113. Venerated as a Blessed for his holiness, learning, and constancy, his feast is kept on June 19.
