Blessed Odo of Beauvais
Saint Odo of Beauvais (born about 801 AD in France; died January 28, 880 AD in Beauvais, France) was a French Benedictine monk who became abbot of Corbie and then Bishop of Beauvais, a respected churchman of the Carolingian age known for his learning, his zeal for reform, and his defense of the Church. Honored as a saint by ancient custom—that is, from before the era of formal papal canonizations—he is venerated as a Saint of the Church. His feast day is January 28.
A monk formed in the great abbey of Corbie, Odo served the Church as abbot and bishop and took part in the councils and affairs of his time. As with many figures of that distant age, the record is partly traditional, and this account keeps to what can reasonably be affirmed.

Biography
Odo was born about the year 801 in France, in the Carolingian era. He embraced the monastic life at the renowned abbey of Corbie, a great center of learning and reform, where he was formed in the Benedictine tradition and grew in reputation for holiness, discipline, and scholarship. In time he was made abbot of Corbie, governing the community with wisdom.
He was afterward called to the episcopate as Bishop of Beauvais. As bishop he devoted himself to the care of his flock, the reform of clergy and people, and the defense of the rights and doctrine of the Church, taking part in the synods and controversies of a turbulent age—among them the ecclesiastical disputes that troubled the Frankish Church in his day. He was esteemed by his contemporaries and enjoyed the confidence of the Holy See in the affairs entrusted to him.
Odo of Beauvais died on January 28, 880. He was venerated as a saint from ancient times, his cultus dating from long before the age of formal canonization by the Holy See.
