Blessed Mykola Konrad
Blessed Mykola Konrad (born May 16, 1876 AD in Struzówka, Ukraine; died June 26, 1941 AD near Stradch, Ukraine) was a Ukrainian Greek Catholic priest and scholar who was killed by Soviet forces while carrying the Blessed Sacrament to a dying parishioner. He is venerated as a Blessed and martyr of the Church. His feast day is June 26.
A learned priest and professor, Mykola Konrad gave his life in the exercise of his ministry, shot for his fidelity to Christ and the Church during the Soviet occupation. He was beatified in 2001 among the Ukrainian martyrs.

Biography
Mykola Konrad was born on May 16, 1876, in Galicia, in the western part of present-day Ukraine. He pursued higher studies, earning a doctorate, and was ordained a priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. A man of learning, he taught as a professor—including at the theological academy of Lviv—and wrote on philosophical and social questions, while also serving in pastoral ministry.
In 1941, during the turmoil of the Second World War and the Soviet occupation of the region, he was serving the faithful in the area of Stradch. When called to bring the sacraments to a sick or dying parishioner, he set out with the Blessed Sacrament to fulfill his priestly duty. On June 26, 1941, on this errand of mercy, he was seized and shot by Soviet soldiers, together with his cantor, dying as a martyr in the very act of carrying Christ to the dying.
Mykola Konrad was beatified on June 27, 2001, by Pope John Paul II at Lviv, among the Blessed martyrs of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. His feast is kept on June 26.
