Blessed Maria Adeodata Pisani
Blessed Maria Adeodata Pisani (born December 29, 1806 AD in Naples, Italy; died February 25, 1855 AD in Mdina, Malta) was a Maltese Benedictine nun, of noble birth, who lived a hidden life of prayer, penance, and charity in the monastery of Saint Peter at Mdina, where she served as novice-mistress and abbess. She is venerated as a Blessed of the Benedictine Order. Her feast day is February 25.
Born of a noble but troubled family, Maria Teresa Pisani renounced the world to become a Benedictine nun at Mdina, taking the name Maria Adeodata. She was known for her humility, her care of the poor, and her fidelity to the monastic life. She was beatified in 2001.

Biography
Maria Teresa Pisani was born on December 29, 1806, at Naples, of a noble Maltese family; she was a daughter of Baron Benedetto Pisani. Her early life was marked by the difficulties and disorder of her family—her parents' marriage broke down, and her father was for a time imprisoned—so that she experienced instability and sorrow in her youth.
Drawn to God amid these trials, she resolved to consecrate herself to him. She entered the Benedictine monastery of Saint Peter at Mdina, the old capital of Malta, and made her profession, taking the name Maria Adeodata ("given by God"). There she embraced the enclosed monastic life of prayer, silence, work, and the observance of the Rule of Saint Benedict.
Within the monastery Maria Adeodata was known for her deep humility, her spirit of penance and prayer, and her charity, especially toward the poor, to whom she gave generously from the monastery's means and her own portion. She served the community as novice-mistress, forming the young sisters, and was later elected abbess, governing with gentleness and example rather than severity, though she preferred a hidden life.
Maria Adeodata Pisani died at Mdina on February 25, 1855. She was beatified on May 9, 2001, by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Malta. Her feast is kept on February 25.
