Blessed Marcolino Amanni
Blessed Marcolino Amanni (also Marcolino of Forlì; born 1317 AD in Forlì, Emilia-Romagna, Italy; died January 24, 1397 AD in Forlì, Italy) was an Italian Dominican friar of Forlì, remembered for his profound humility, his life of prayer, and his love of the poor and of children. He is venerated as a Blessed of the Dominican Order. His feast day is January 24.
A friar so unassuming that his sanctity was little noticed in his lifetime, Marcolino was revealed as holy at his death by extraordinary signs and the acclaim of the people of Forlì. His cult was confirmed in 1750.

Biography
Marcolino Amanni was born in 1317 at Forlì in the Romagna region of Italy. While still a boy he entered the Order of Preachers—the Dominicans—at Forlì, and he lived his whole long life in the friary of his native city.
He was a friar of the utmost simplicity and humility. He held no offices of note, undertook no famous works, and drew little attention; some even thought him unremarkable or slow. But in secret he lived a life of intense prayer and union with God, of severe penance, and of tender charity, especially toward the poor and toward little children, whom he loved to gather, teach, and care for.
When Marcolino died at Forlì on January 24, 1397, the hidden holiness of his life was suddenly made manifest. According to the tradition, the children of the city ran through the streets crying that "the saint" was dead, and extraordinary signs and miracles accompanied his death and drew great crowds to venerate him. The Dominican friar Blessed John Dominici later wrote an account of his life.
Marcolino was venerated as a Blessed from the time of his death, and his cult was confirmed in 1750 by Pope Benedict XIV. His feast is kept on January 24.
