Blessed Magdalen Panattieri
Blessed Magdalen Panattieri (Italian: Maddalena Panatieri; born 1443 AD in Trino, Piedmont, Italy; died October 13, 1503 AD in Trino, Italy) was an Italian Dominican tertiary of Trino, renowned as a teacher, catechist, and reformer who exhorted her townspeople and clergy to a holier life. She is venerated as a Blessed of the Dominican Order. Her feast day is October 13.
Living in her family home as a Dominican tertiary, Magdalen Panattieri instructed children and adults, gave spiritual exhortations that even priests and religious came to hear, and worked for moral reform. Her cult was confirmed in 1827.

Biography
Maddalena Panatieri was born in 1443 at Trino, in Piedmont, Italy. From her youth she was devout, and she joined the Third Order of Saint Dominic, living a consecrated life in her own family home rather than in a cloister, in the manner of the Dominican tertiaries.
She devoted herself to prayer and penance and to the instruction of others. She began by teaching the children of Trino their catechism and letters, gathering them for lessons in the faith. In time her spiritual conferences and exhortations drew not only children and women but also men, and even priests and religious, who came to hear her speak on the Gospel and the Christian life.
Magdalen used her influence to work for the moral and religious reform of her town, denouncing vice—such as usury and immorality—and calling clergy and laity alike to conversion and a more fervent life, in the spirit of the Dominican Observant reform of her age. She was esteemed for her holiness, her charity to the poor, and the graces attributed to her.
Magdalen Panattieri died at Trino on October 13, 1503. She was venerated as a Blessed of the Dominican Order, and her cult was confirmed in 1827 by Pope Leo XII. Her feast is kept on October 13.
