Blessed Madeleine Brideau
Blessed Madeleine Brideau (French: Marie-Anne Madeleine Brideau; died July 1794 AD in Orange, France) was a French religious sister, a superior of the Sacramentine nuns of Bollène, who was guillotined during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution. She is honored among the Martyrs of Orange. Her feast day is July 9.
Superior of her community of Sacramentine (Perpetual Adoration) nuns, Madeleine Brideau was imprisoned with the other contemplative sisters of the region at Orange and condemned by the revolutionary tribunal for her fidelity to the Church and her religious vows. She was beatified in 1925.

Biography
Marie-Anne Madeleine Brideau was a French religious of the Sacramentine order—nuns devoted to the perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament—at Bollène, in the Comtat Venaissin of southern France, where she served as superior of her community.
During the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution, the contemplative nuns of several communities of the region—Sacramentines and Ursulines of Bollène, Benedictines, and Cistercians—were arrested and confined together in a makeshift prison at Orange. There, in the summer of 1794, they were brought before the revolutionary tribunal, which condemned them for refusing to abandon their religious life and their fidelity to the Catholic Church, and for rejecting the oaths demanded by the revolutionary government.
As a superior, Madeleine Brideau was among those held responsible and condemned. She was guillotined at Orange in July 1794, with her fellow sisters.
She was beatified on May 10, 1925, by Pope Pius XI, among the thirty-two Martyrs of Orange. Her feast is kept on July 9.
