Blessed Josepha Maria of Saint Agnes (Spanish: Josefa María de Santa Inés; born Josefa Albiñana; born 1625 AD in Benigànim, Valencia, Spain; died January 21, 1696 AD in Benigànim, Spain) was a Spanish Augustinian nun and mystic, known popularly as "Mother Inés of Benigànim," renowned for her simplicity, penance, and gifts of prayer and prophecy. She is venerated as a Blessed of the Augustinian Order. Her feast day is January 21.
Of humble origin, Josefa entered the Augustinian convent of Benigànim as a lay sister and lived there a hidden life of contemplation. She was widely sought out for her counsel and her reputation for holiness. She was beatified in 1888.

Biography
Josefa Albiñana was born in 1625 at Benigànim, a town in the region of Valencia, Spain, into a poor and devout family. Orphaned young and of little formal education, she was known from childhood for her simplicity and piety.
She sought to enter religious life and was received into the Augustinian convent of the Discalced Augustinian nuns at Benigànim, taking the name Josefa María de Santa Inés—Josepha Maria of Saint Agnes. There she lived a hidden life of prayer, obedience, and penance, occupied in humble tasks.
She was favored with mystical graces, including ecstasies and gifts of prophecy and reading of hearts, and despite her humble station she came to be sought out by people of every rank for her counsel and prayers. She bore illnesses and interior trials with patience, and was esteemed as a living saint by the people of the region, who called her simply "Mother Inés."
Josepha Maria of Saint Agnes died at Benigànim on January 21, 1696. She was beatified on February 26, 1888, by Pope Leo XIII. Her feast is kept on January 21, and she remains a beloved patroness of Benigànim.
