Blessed John del Bastone (born c. 1295 AD in Casentino, Tuscany, Italy; died March 24, 1342 AD in Casentino, Tuscany, Italy) was an Italian Catholic mystic and Spiritual Franciscan hermit of the Casentino valley in Tuscany, a disciple of the Franciscan Spiritual tradition associated with Angelo Clareno and Giovanni della Valle, known for his austerity, visions, and mystical gifts. He was beatified by confirmed local cult. His feast day is March 24.

Biography
John del Bastone was born c. 1295 in the Casentino valley, in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany. He became a mystic and hermit in the Franciscan Spiritual tradition — the movement that insisted on absolute poverty in the spirit of Saint Francis. He lived in the Casentino forests that included the holy site of La Verna (where Francis received the stigmata in 1224) and the Camaldolese monastery of Camaldoli.
He was known for his austere penance, mystical visions, and charismatic gifts. His name "del Bastone" (of the staff) may refer to a staff he carried as a hermit.
He died March 24, 1342, in the Casentino. His feast day is March 24.
