Blessed John Ingram
Blessed John Ingram (born c. 1565 AD in Stoke Edith, Herefordshire, England; died July 26, 1594 AD in Gateshead, County Durham, England) was an English Catholic secular priest who was martyred at Gateshead during the Elizabethan persecution. He is venerated among the 85 Martyrs of England and Wales beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 22, 1987. His feast day is July 26.

Biography
John Ingram was born c. 1565 in Stoke Edith, Herefordshire. He studied at Oxford, where he converted to Catholicism, and then traveled to the Continent. He was ordained a priest at the English College in Rome and returned to England to minister to the underground Catholic community.
He was arrested and condemned under the Elizabethan penal laws for the crime of being an ordained Catholic priest in England, and was hanged, drawn, and quartered at Gateshead, County Durham, on July 26, 1594.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 22, 1987, as one of the 85 Martyrs of England and Wales. His feast day is July 26.
