Blessed John Finch
Blessed John Finch (born c. 1548 AD in Eccleston, Lancashire, England; died April 20, 1584 AD in Lancaster, Lancashire, England) was an English Catholic layman and farmer who was martyred at Lancaster for harboring a Catholic priest and upholding the Pope's authority. He is venerated among the Martyrs of England beatified by Pope Leo XIII on May 13, 1895. His feast day is April 20.

Biography
John Finch was born c. 1548 in Eccleston, Lancashire. He was a farmer who supported the underground Catholic mission in Lancashire by harboring Catholic priests and attending their clandestine Masses.
He was arrested and tried at Lancaster. He refused to acknowledge Elizabeth I as Supreme Head of the Church of England and was condemned. He was hanged, drawn, and quartered at Lancaster on April 20, 1584.
He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on May 13, 1895. His feast day is April 20.
