Blessed John Dominici de Banchini (born c. 1356 AD in Florence, Tuscany, Italy; died June 10, 1419 AD in Buda (now Budapest), Hungary) was an Italian Catholic Dominican friar, theologian, Archbishop of Ragusa (Dubrovnik), Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church, celebrated preacher, and key figure in ending the Western Schism. He was beatified by Pope Leo XII on June 25, 1828. His feast day is June 10.

Biography
John Dominici de Banchini (Giovanni di Banchini) was born c. 1356 in Florence, Tuscany. He entered the Dominican Order and studied under Blessed Raymond of Capua, confessor of Saint Catherine of Siena. He became one of the most celebrated Dominican preachers of his era, reformed Dominican houses in Venice and Florence, and served as spiritual director of the young Antonino Pierozzi (later Saint Antoninus of Florence).
During the Western Schism (1378-1417), he was loyal to the Roman line Pope Gregory XII, who appointed him Archbishop of Ragusa (Dubrovnik, 1407) and then Cardinal (1408). He played a crucial role at the Council of Constance (1414-1418), negotiating Gregory XII's voluntary resignation — a selfless act that broke the deadlock of the Schism and made possible the election of Martin V (1417) and the restoration of Church unity.
He was sent as Papal Legate to Hungary and died in Buda on June 10, 1419. He was beatified by Pope Leo XII on June 25, 1828. His feast day is June 10.
