Blessed John Cacciafronte
Blessed John Cacciafronte (born c. 1125 AD in Cremona, Lombardy, Italy; died March 16, 1183 AD near Vicenza, Veneto, Italy) was an Italian Catholic bishop who served successively as Bishop of Mantua and Bishop of Vicenza and was killed by assassins while traveling on horseback, venerated as a martyr. He was beatified by Pope Alexander VIII in 1695. His feast day is March 16.

Biography
John Cacciafronte was born c. 1125 in Cremona, Lombardy. He became a Benedictine monk and priest. He rose in the Church to become Bishop of Mantua and was subsequently transferred to the see of Vicenza in 1177.
He served as Bishop of Vicenza during the turbulent period of the Lombard League's conflicts with Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. On March 16, 1183, while traveling on horseback near Vicenza, he was killed by assassins. The Church recognized his death as martyrdom — dying in the exercise of his episcopal duty.
He was beatified by Pope Alexander VIII in 1695. His feast day is March 16.
