Blessed John Buralli
Blessed John Buralli (born c. 1209 AD in Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy; died March 20, 1289 AD in Camerino, Marche, Italy) was an Italian Catholic Franciscan friar who served as the seventh Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans) from 1247 to 1257, known for his apostolic simplicity, his learning, and his extraordinary journeys visiting Franciscan communities worldwide. His family name was Buralli; he is commonly called Blessed John of Parma. He was beatified by Pope Clement XIV in 1777. His feast day is March 20.

Biography
John Buralli (Giovanni Buralli da Parma, commonly called John of Parma) was born c. 1209 in Parma, Emilia-Romagna. He entered the Franciscan Order and studied theology, becoming a celebrated preacher and professor.
He was elected the seventh Minister General of the Franciscan Order in 1247. During his decade of leadership (1247-1257) he made extraordinary barefoot journeys visiting Franciscan communities across Europe, Asia, and the Near East, embodying the apostolic spirit of Saint Francis. He was known for deep personal holiness.
Under pressure for his sympathy with the Joachimite "Spiritual" wing of the Franciscans, he resigned as Minister General in 1257. Saint Bonaventure succeeded him. He then lived for thirty-two more years as a simple Franciscan friar, dying at approximately age eighty in Camerino, Marche, on March 20, 1289.
He was beatified by Pope Clement XIV in 1777. His feast day is March 20.
