Blessed John Angelo Porro (born c. 1451 AD in Milan, Lombardy, Italy; died October 24, 1506 AD in Milan, Lombardy, Italy) was an Italian Catholic Servite friar known for his holiness, penance, and care for the poor and sick in Milan. He was beatified by Pope Pius VI on October 8, 1796. His feast day is October 24.

Biography

John Angelo Porro was born c. 1451 in Milan, Lombardy. He entered the Order of Servants of Mary (Servites) and lived in a Servite community in Milan, dedicating himself to penance and to the care of the poor and sick of the city.

His life of holiness spanned the height of the Milanese Renaissance under Lodovico Sforza, when Leonardo da Vinci worked in Milan. He lived as a humble penitent friar among the suffering poor.

He died October 24, 1506, in Milan. He was beatified by Pope Pius VI on October 8, 1796. His feast day is October 24.
