Blessed Joachim Firaiama Diz
Blessed Joachim Firaiama-Diz (born c. 1574 AD in Japan; died September 10, 1622 AD in Nagasaki, Japan) was a Japanese Catholic layman martyred in the Great Martyrdom of Nagasaki during the Tokugawa persecution. He is venerated among the 205 Martyrs of Japan beatified by Pope Pius IX on July 7, 1867. His feast day is September 10.

Biography
Joachim Firaiama-Diz (Hirayama-Díaz) was born c. 1574 in Japan. He was a Catholic layman in the Nagasaki region whose name combines his Japanese family name (Hirayama) with a Spanish or Portuguese missionary surname (Díaz).
He refused to apostatize during the Tokugawa persecution and was martyred in the Great Martyrdom of Nagasaki on September 10, 1622.
He was beatified by Pope Pius IX on July 7, 1867, among the 205 Martyrs of Japan. His feast day is September 10.
