Blessed Jildo Irwa
Blessed Jildo Irwa (born c. 1906 AD in Payoro, Uganda; died October 19, 1918 AD in Paimol, Uganda) was a Ugandan Catholic boy catechist who was martyred at approximately 12 years of age for refusing to stop teaching the Catholic faith. He is venerated alongside Blessed Daudi Okelo, his companion in martyrdom. Both were beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 20, 2002. His feast day is October 20.

Biography
Jildo Irwa was born c. 1906 in Payoro, Acholi District, northern Uganda. He was baptized as a child and trained as a lay catechist by the Comboni Missionaries at a very young age. He was sent to Paimol to teach the Catholic faith to his fellow Acholi.
He was martyred at Paimol on October 19, 1918, the day after his companion Blessed Daudi Okelo, at approximately 12 years of age. He refused to flee despite knowing the fate of Daudi Okelo.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 20, 2002. His feast day is October 20.
