Blessed James of Bitetto
Blessed James of Bitetto (born c. 1370 AD in Zara, Dalmatia, Croatia; died c. 1485 AD in Bitetto, Apulia, Italy) was a Croatian-born Italian Catholic Franciscan lay brother known for his humility, austerity, and miracles in Apulia. He is distinct from Blessed James Gerius (also associated with Bitetto) and is sometimes confused with him. He was beatified by confirmed local cult. His feast day is April 27.

Biography
James of Bitetto was born c. 1370 in Zara (Zadar), Dalmatia (present-day Croatia). He traveled to southern Italy and entered the Franciscan Order as a lay brother in Bitetto, Apulia. He was known for austerity, humility, and miracles.
He died c. 1485 in Bitetto. He shares his April 27 feast with the earlier Blessed James Gerius, also a Franciscan of Bitetto, and is distinct from him. His feast day is April 27.
