Blessed James Walworth
Blessed James Walworth (born c. 1490 AD in England; died May 11, 1537 AD in York, Yorkshire, England) was an English Catholic Carthusian monk of the London Charterhouse martyred during the English Reformation for refusing to accept King Henry VIII's Act of Supremacy. He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on December 9, 1886. His feast day is May 11.

Biography
James Walworth was born c. 1490 in England. He became a Carthusian monk at the London Charterhouse, one of the most distinguished contemplative monasteries in England.
When Henry VIII required the Oath of Supremacy (recognizing the king as Supreme Head of the Church of England), Walworth refused. He was sent to York and executed by hanging, drawing, and quartering on May 11, 1537, along with Blessed John Rochester.
He was beatified by Pope Leo XIII on December 9, 1886. His feast day is May 11.
