Blessed James Fayashida
Blessed James Fayashida (born c. 1576 AD in Japan; died September 10, 1622 AD in Nagasaki, Japan) was a Japanese Catholic layman martyred in the Great Martyrdom of Nagasaki during the Tokugawa persecution. He is venerated among the 205 Martyrs of Japan beatified by Pope Pius IX on July 7, 1867. His feast day is September 10.

Biography
James Fayashida (Hayashida) was born c. 1576 in Japan. He was a Catholic layman in the Nagasaki region during the Tokugawa persecution of Christianity.
He refused to apostatize and was martyred in the Great Martyrdom of Nagasaki on September 10, 1622, along with 50 other Christians.
He was beatified by Pope Pius IX on July 7, 1867, among the 205 Martyrs of Japan. His feast day is September 10.
