Blessed James Clarkson
Blessed James Clarkson (born c. 1642 AD in England; died June 28, 1702 AD in York, Yorkshire, England) was an English Catholic secular priest martyred during the persecution of Catholic clergy in England. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 22, 1987, among the 85 Martyrs of England and Wales. His feast day is June 28.

Biography
James Clarkson was born c. 1642 in England. He trained for the priesthood abroad and returned to England as a clandestine missionary priest, ministering to the recusant Catholic community.
He was arrested and executed at York on June 28, 1702, as one of the later English Catholic martyrs, in the reign of King William III.
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on November 22, 1987, among the 85 Martyrs of England and Wales. His feast day is June 28.
