Blessed James Bertoni
Blessed James Bertoni (born March 13, 1444 AD in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy; died May 30, 1483 AD in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy) was an Italian Catholic Servite friar known for his long illness endured with extraordinary patience and union with Christ's Passion. Bedridden for much of his life with a painful disease, he offered his sufferings as a participation in the Cross. He was beatified by Pope Pius VI on September 6, 1766. His feast day is May 30.

Biography
James Bertoni was born March 13, 1444, in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna. He entered the Order of Servants of Mary (Servites) in Faenza. From youth he suffered from a painful disease that eventually left him bedridden for many years.
His sanctity lay in the extraordinary patience with which he endured his illness, offering his sufferings in union with the Passion of Christ and the sorrows of Mary. He was known for mystical experiences during his long illness.
He died May 30, 1483, in Faenza. He was beatified by Pope Clement XIII on September 6, 1766. His feast day is May 30.
